Meet Ossie

Ossie moved into her CHN home in 2022 after experiencing homelessness for two years, during which she lived in shelters and a group home. In the group home, she faced a toxic and violent environment that caused her to stay away so often it was as if she had moved out. The distressing conditions led to post-traumatic stress disorder, where any loud voice or negativity triggered her anxiety.

After being connected to CHN through her case manager, Ossie found a home of her own and received support from the dedicated CHN staff. She says, “They’re lifelines.”

Ossie is extremely proud of her home and community. She loves participating in building activities such as movie nights, karaoke sessions, and a 7-Up social. Her home reflects her personal taste, and she takes great pride in maintaining it.

Ossie shares, “I can do anything as long as I believe in myself and have helping hands like [CHN].”
