Meet Beth

Before moving into Community Housing Network housing, Beth was sleeping in her car and various shelters, worrying about where she would go next.

When Beth received her apartment through CHN, the relief was immediate—and overwhelming.

“It felt like the greatest gift I’ve ever had.

For the first time, Beth had a stable home of her own. A place where she could sleep well, feel safe, and take pride in caring for her space. She describes CHN as having a lot of opportunities and avenues for growth, and says the supportive environment made all the difference.

“I don’t even like to think about what my life would have been like without CHN,” Beth shared. “It would have been terrible. I would have had nowhere to go.”

Beth appreciates the reliability of her home, from responsive maintenance to the sense of security she feels every day. But just as meaningful is the sense of community, she is grateful to be part of a place where residents are encouraged to explore their interests.

An artist with a fine arts degree from the Columbus College of Art & Design, Beth finds creativity essential to her mental health. With support from Concord Counseling Services, she submitted her artwork to competitions and was named one of four winners of the 2025 CHN Resident Art Contest.

Today, Beth looks around her apartment with gratitude. It’s more than just a place to live, it’s a foundation, a community, and a source of stability.

“I love the CHN community, I’m very appreciative of having housing. It truly is a gift to be here.”
